On 3 December 2023 (Sunday), CDAC held its annual “Ready for School” event at Nanyang Junior College. This marks the 20th anniversary of the “Ready for School” event. Approximately 1,500 families attended the event, engaging in activities like community string art and sneaker jamming. The event was graced by Mr. Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, and Mr. Alex Yam Ziming, Mayor, North West District and CDAC Board Member.

This year’s “Ready for School” event aims to provide timely support to 8,500 families and approximately 17,000 school-going children to prepare for the new academic year. The invited families include current beneficiaries from various CDAC programmes such as Bursaries, Tuition Programmes, Casework Management, and other programmes. Each family received a set of family transport e-vouchers worth $200, while each school-going child received a set of school-ready e-vouchers worth $80 (up to a maximum of three school-going children in 2024 per family).
