Mentor/Senior Mentor

    • Mentoring primary school children and secondary school youth from disadvantaged families to develop character strengths and social emotional competencies through building quality relationships with the children.

    • Planning learning activities for mentoring sessions and to be a positive role model to achieve following objectives:to develop confidence and character strengths in children for their personal growth;
      to build positive and quality relationships with children and foster friendships amongst them and develop a sense of belonging to the community.

    • Supporting in development of outcome measures and using data-driven approaches to track the development of children in CDAC programmes through observations, in-depth conversations and information sharing with schools. Using the data and outcomes derived from tracking, and work with other CDAC officers to review, and refine programme implementation to better achieve social mobility for low-income families’ children.

    • Fostering partnership with Singapore Ministry of Education and other community organisations to provide opportunities for children in disadvantaged families. This involves working with schools, parents, volunteers and community partners to provide transitioning support for these children as they progress from primary and eventually to secondary levels.

    • Strong beliefs in the child’s well being and overall development are necessary. This also includes a strong belief that every child can learn and is unique.

    • Experience in working with young children, particularly as part of the Student Development Team (SDT) in a primary school may be advantageous.

    • Experience in designing programmes to develop life skills and passion of children be it in aesthetics, sports, and outdoor education.

    • Practical experience in designing children programmes with a view to develop their self-interest, identity, and strengths is important.

    • Ability to work in teams is necessary. The work involves collaborations with colleagues within the department, across the whole CDAC and with external partners and volunteers.

    • Flexibility in working off-site, particularly at different CDAC centres or schools, as well as on weekends and evenings when necessary.

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

    • Candidates with more years of experience and the capability to lead may be considered for the Senior Mentor role

Part-Time Tutors


  • • Tutor students who require academic support.

Executive/Senior Executive (Family Support & Development)


  • The Executive/ Senior Executive provides casework support to low-income families and individuals in improving their resources and ability to cope with their challenges. He/ She manages the mentoring and tutoring programme, which supports upper primary/lower secondary school students who are academically weaker, and work closely with volunteers who contribute in it. He/ She also works with stakeholders, such as volunteers, partners and vendors, in programme planning, implementation and evaluation.

  • Key Job Duties

    1. Case Management

    • Assesses and recommends appropriate financial assistance and other forms of support to families and individuals.

    • Supports and monitors families’ progress in improving their resources and ability to cope with their challenges.

    2. Mentoring and Tutoring Programme

    • Manages the operation of the programme

    • Manages volunteers to develop and empower them to contribute to the programme

    • Organise activities to develop the students and strengthen family bonds.

    • Minimum Degree, preferably in Social Sciences

    • Has passion to work with low-income families, students and volunteers.

    • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a service-oriented attitude

    • Strong organising skills with the ability to work in teams and independently

    • Ability to converse in English, Mandarin (to serve Mandarin-speaking beneficiaries) and preferably a dialect

    • Willing to work on Saturday

Admin Support Staff (Education Dept)

    • Ensure prompt follow-up and closure for all enquiries, either on phone or through emails

    • Provide support on kidsREAD programme administrative work (e.g. Volunteer Administration and Recruitment, Maintaining and updating students’ information and database)

    • Handle kidsREAD curriculum-related administrative duties (e.g. assist with preparing and packing of t-shirts and NLB book resources)

    • Track students’ attendance and provide regular updates to colleagues in charge of the kidsREAD programme

    • Assist with event logistics preparation

    • Education level: ‘O’ Level and above

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook

    • Receptive to learn new skills (e.g. using Salesforce portal)

    • Good command of written and spoken English & Mandarin

    • 5-day work week. Advanced notice will be provided if required to support events or programmes on weekends, or after working hours. No obligation to work onweekends or after working hours.

Part-Time Administrative Support Staff

  • Key Job Duties

    • Update and manage the volunteer database using the Salesforce system and ensure the accuracy of volunteer records;

    • Manage and maintain inventory of departmental items, including T-shirt, lanyards and other collaterals;

    • Prepare monthly softcopy birthday cards for regular volunteers and ensure timely delivery of birthday cards to volunteers;

    • Handle phone and email enquiries

    • Provide logistical and administrative support for workshops and events

    • Perform any other duties as assigned

Administrative Support Staff (CDAC @ Bedok)

  • CDAC centres are strategically located island-wide to better serve students, workers and families. We aim to provide its services and programmes to the community near to their homes.

    Reporting to the team supervisor, the job scope is as follows:

    • Open and closing of centre

    • Performing counter duties and answering of enquiries

    • Assisting clients with registration of programmes and application for assistance schemes

    • Performing administrative and clerical duties such as collection of programme fees, data entry, centre maintenance and general housekeeping

    • Promoting CDAC programmes and recruiting participants

    • Preparing rooms and materials for centre activities

    • Following up with attendance for centre activities and calling of absentees

    • Preparing incident reports where applicable

    • Handling walk-in donations

    • Covering duties when necessary

    • Any other ad hoc duties

  • Technical Skills:

    1. Proficient in serving English and Mandarin-speaking clients.

    2. Competent in Microsoft Office and email applications.
