About Us

Our Organisation
Jointly set up by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) and the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) in 1992, the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) is a non-profit self-help group for the Chinese community.

CDAC offers programmes and assistance schemes to help the less privileged in the community maximise their potential and strive for social mobility through self-help and mutual support.

In 2022, CDAC supported 16,600 households through its various programmes for students, workers, seniors and families.

From 2022 to 2026, the CDAC is adopting a 3-pronged strategy to ensure that social mobility is attainable among our beneficiaries.

Our Mission
To nurture and develop the potential of the Chinese Community in contributing to the continued success of multi-racial Singapore.

Our Vision
Committed and Trusted Organisation, Empowered and Caring Community.

Our Three Initiatives

1

To lay strong foundations for children from low-income families through play-based learning. This initiative will start with children at the levels of K1-2 in order to close socio-cultural gaps.

2

To support children from low-income families across the key transition stages from primary school all the way to their post-secondary years. This will be done through mentorships and follow-ups in a targeted, longitudinal approach.

3

To broaden our beneficiaries’ exposure to learning beyond academics, targeting their holistic development and motivation through ed-tech, sustained interest-based programmes and the redesigning of our learning spaces within the CDAC centres.

Logo Inspiration

The logo was inspired from the traditional Spring Festival couplets.

The contrasting figure on a red background suggests the organisation’s bright outlook into the future. The figure extends to the edge of the diamond symbol, signifying dynamism and earnestness.

The graphic lines symbolise a person, representing CDAC’s focus on People.

The top portion of the lines symbolises the efforts and endeavour made by the parties being assisted for educational advancement, self-reliance and self-improvement.

The lower portion of the lines symbolises the assistance and support provided by the community, which appears as a strong and unyielding motivating force.
