The CDAC Opportunity Fund provides subsidy for needy students to take part in enrichment and character development programmes, to acquire designated software package, learning aids and to own a personal computer. 

Objectives

To help needy Chinese students to:

l        enhance self-esteem and build confidence by participating in enrichment and character development programmes;

l        acquire equipment and tools for their studies; and

l        enhance their abilities to cope with financial difficulties. 

Who can apply?

1.    Race / Nationality

       Chinese Singapore Citizen.

2.    Schools Attending

Attending a Government School, Government Aided School, Junior College/centralized institute, Independent School or Institute of Technical Education (ITE).

3.    Monthly Household Income (MHI) & Per Capita Income (PCI)

Gross MHI : $1,500 or below OR Gross PCI: $375 or below.

l        Duly complete the application form.

l        Enclose photocopied supporting documents.

1)          Birth Certificates (BC) / NRICs of applicant and all household members  (photocopy both sides)

2)          Latest pay slips/ Income Tax Assessment form/ CPF Contribution History (6 months)/ Employer's letter of parents/guardian and other working family members.

3)          Self-declared letter of income and latest CPF Contribution History (6 months) of housewives, odd job workers or unemployed.

l        Forward form to school for recommendation.

l        Submit duly completed form to:

l        Incomplete application form will NOT be processed.

Rules and Regulations

Subsidy and Co-payment of Fees:

l        Amount of subsidy for learning equipment/tools is capped at $500 per applicant (not including subsidy for enrichment programmes).

l        Subsidy is one-off. Successful applicants are not eligible to re-apply when they have fully utilized the subsidy granted to them.

l        Successful applicants are required to co-pay for NEU PC Plus Programme and learning equipment/tools. Fees will be waived except for laptop computer, if the gross MHI is $1,200 or below or gross PCI is $300 or below

l        All successful applicants are required to co-pay for participating in enrichment programmes

Closing Date

Application will be closed when the Fund is depleted.

Approval

All applications will be processed and approved by CDAC Secretariat. The decision shall be final. No correspondence or telephone enquiry will be entertained.

Notification

l        CDAC will inform successful applicants by post.

l        Recipients must notify CDAC in writing for any change of address and/or contact no.

Others

CDAC reserves the right to amend the Rules & Regulations when and where it deems necessary.
