WSQ ESS – WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH - OPERATIONS


 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

To impart knowledge and skills in understanding the roles and responsibilities of both the worker and the Workplace Safety and Health Committee stipulated under the regulations; following workplace procedures for risk control and emergencies accurately; and identifying typical unsafe working conditions and work practices within industry concerned.

 

COURSE CONTENT

- Observe defined workplace safety and health policies & procedures

~ Identify responsibilities a) under Workplace Safety & Health Act; b) of  a general worker and c) the Workplace Safety and Health Committee accurately

 

- Observe hazard identification and risk control procedures

~ Interpret safety signs, functions of common Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and workplace hazards accurately, follow workplace procedures for risk control and dealing with emergencies accurately, identify the information needed to handle emergencies

 

- Contribute through participation and consultation for the management of workplace safety and health

METHODOLOGY

The delivery of the course will be highly interactive, with group discussion and table exercises. Participants will also be involved in breakout exercise with a case study.  The emphasis will be on how to guide employees to observe defined workplace safety and health policies and procedures, and acquire competencies necessary to work safely at the workplace.  Post-training test will be conducted at the end of the course.

 

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT

Participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment (SOA) upon successful completion and assessment of the training course
