ES WSQ – INITIATIVE AND ENTERPRISE - OPERATIONS


 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

To impart knowledge and skills in demonstrating initiative to improve workplace performance and achievement of goal as well as self-direction and sustaining effort.  It also helps workers to practise innovative and enterprising behaviours and to identify, evaluate and manage risk in the workplace.

 

COURSE CONTENT

-Initiate action for continuous improvement

Importance to be initiative at the workplace, initiative attributes that an employee should possess, ways to show initiative at workplace, common areas to improve workplace performance, guidelines to put ideas into action resulting in goals achievement, traits of a self-directed individual, skills required for self-direction and to sustain effort, possible outcomes to organisation

 

-Practice innovative and enterprising behaviours

Fundamentals of innovation, reasons and importance for an organisation to have a consistently innovative and enterprising workforce, innovative and enterprising behaviours/traits, maintain an innovative and enterprising mindset, reasons to participate and contribute to innovation ideas in an organisation, areas/types of innovation, steps/process for generating outcomes, techniques / tools to maximize thinking potentials and generate innovative and creative initiatives

 

-Identify, evaluate and manage risk in the workplace

What is risk and what it constitutes, risk associated with initiatives and periodic operations, techniques for identifying risks, corrective actions to avoid or minimise identified risk, standard risk preventive measures, assigning probability to assess consequences of risks, strategy to deal with risks, communicating the preferred strategy, appropriate mode of communication, developing an action plan to implement the selected risk strategy, monitor risks using appropriate measurements.

METHODOLOGY

This workshop will comprise  group discussions & presentation, role play, case study and games

 

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT

Participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment (SOA) upon successful completion and assessment of the training course.
