The AEC Edu Group is providing three study grants of the University of Birmingham's Master of Business Administration (MBA) course for interested applicants in the Chinese community through CDAC.

The Asian Educational Consortium (AEC) is one of the Private Education Organisations (PEOs) awarded the CaseTrust for Education. The AEC Edu Group offers distance learning and online learning programmes and has partnerships with internationally recognised universities and institutions.


Value of Study Grant

The value of each study grant is worth S$12,250 which is 50% of the current cost (S$24,500) of the MBA course offered by the University of Birmingham.

University of Birmingham, Master of Business Administration

The Birmingham MBA (Singapore, part-time programme) is a 24-month intensive MBA
programme. Students are required to take eight intensive modules over this period, submitting
a 10,000-word thesis at the end to complete the requirements for this programme. Interested

Application Procedures

The AEC Study Grant application form can be downloaded from the AEC¡¯s website at www.aec.edu.sg. It can also be obtained from AEC Centre at 141 Market Street, #13-00 or from CDAC Secretariat at 65 Tanjong Katong Road S(436957).

There are five intakes in 2006, namely, 4 January 2006, 5 April 2006, 29 June 2006, 7
September 2006 and 9 November 2006. Closing date for application for each intake is the month before the commencement of the course, ie end of November 2005 for the January 2006 intake.

Eligibility for Course

The study grants are open to Chinese Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents with a gross household income not exceeding $4,000 and are required to meet the admission requirements of the MBA course.

Applicants must have their eligibility for the MBA course assessed by AEC Resource Development Pte Ltd, 141 Market Street, #13-00 AEC Centre first before submitting the application form and supporting documents to CDAC Secretariat. A short essay (not more than 2 pages) on the interest to pursue the selected course of study and the need for the study grant must be submitted with the application form.
